ABOUT
Dadmobile Records is a collection of bands who all hate pants.
We are located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and focus on unconvering the
most exciting music in the region.
Dadmobile Records has been a number of things since the name came in to existence in early 2000.
In the beginning, the label was home to several weird, lo-fi and experimental musicians
such as Petony, Getson, Disassembly, The Young Madrids, and Fonzanzee.
Shortly after, Dadmobile Radio went online in 2001 to support all flavours of local music.
Bucking all sensibility and obvious technological trends, Dadmobile Radio abandoned the internet and moved to the broadcast radio station
CKMS 100.3FM Radio Waterloo at the start of 2003, where it remained until its final broadcast in October 2006.
For a brief period in 2005 and 2006 we focused on providing a free showcase of downloadable music from K-W artists like
The Haunches, Silent Film Soundtrack, Phenomenon Of The Boy, The Band From Planet X and The Real Cool Killers.
Once again ignoring all sensibility and conventional industry wisdom,
Dadmobile Records abandoned its digital roots and became a traditional record label in August 2006 with the release of albums by Bocce and Knock Knock Ginger.
Kidstreet joined the lineup at the start of 2009.
We're working at full capacity right now and can't really take on new bands at this time.
But we're always interested to hear what other musicians are up to, so please drop us a line.
SPECIAL THANKS
The original Dadmobile Records design was done by the good people at Big Time Design.
